Mary - PONDER

This year we are focusing on the lessons and traditions associated with each of the figures in the nativity. We have a new nativity set and will add each figure after the evening devotional (song, scriptures, prayer). Aspen has her own nativity to add to and play with. We will hold our devotionals Thursday and Sunday or Monday night each week. There are seven total.
The two overriding emotions of the season are anticipation and celebration. Anticipation for a Christmas filled with the Spirit of Christ, and celebration in honor of the miracle of His birth, life, and atonement. Maybe you can do these devotionals with us as part of your scripture study and join in our anticipation and celebration. :)

MARY- PONDER
"Silent Night"
Read Luke 1:26-56 and Luke 2:5-7,19
What do these verses teach about Mary's character? As you read each scripture, focus on what was most important to her. Take a moment to consider what Mary might have pondered in her heart.

Activity: Make heart-shaped sugar cookies or heart-shaped paper ornaments.
Take time to reflect on your thoughts of the night of Christ's birth. Ponder what the birth of the Savior means to you. Place Mary in your nativity scene.

MARY reminds us that we need to find a moment to ponder the events of that sacred night in Bethlehem. In that moment we celebrate the miracle of Christ' birth, and the gift that Heaven gave.

Thanksgiving Outing

Who knew we lived so close to a National Geographic cover photo? These photos are of the Great Hunt and other petroglyphs we saw in Nine Mile Canyon.
